Membership March

25 players were on hand at Bluemont Park to help kick of the 2005 membership drive. All entrants in the event are now current members. The format of the event was 3 rounds of 9 holes from each of the 3 tee pads. Players competed for 2005 club tags and CTP and furthest putt contests throughout the course. New members also received player packages including: stamped club disc, high-tech towel, newsletter and other club resources.
In addition to the 25 players who joined the Club, 5 to 10 current members did not participate. It was a good start to the membership drive and there will be plenty of opportunities to join at an upcoming event near you.
The Ragnar Overby Trophy was unveiled for the assembled crowd despite the absence of the honoree. Initially, the trophy will be presented to the winner of the 2005 Spring Singles Series, who will maintain possession until the next major Club event.
Dave Hendrickson, of Revolution Disc Golf Bags graciously donated a golf bag from his inventory of high quality equipment, which was won by Steve Charron as a CTP prize. Dave also brought along copies of Disc Golf World for all members.
When the dust had settled, the cream had indeed risen to the top. Ronnie Turner bested the field, coming from behind to overtake Dennis Azato and John O’Gorman to capture the #1 Tag. Congratulations to Ronnie. To the rest of you, go get his tag.
